## Why the answer is "ask your centre"

CIPLE is administered through a network of authorised centres, each of which manages its own
sessions, availability and in some cases its own procedures. That decentralisation is the same
reason registration is inconsistent, and it applies here too.

We would rather tell you to check than give you a confident answer that turns out to be wrong for
your centre. A wrong assumption here costs you a session.

## Ask them these questions specifically

When you contact your centre, be precise, because a vague enquiry gets a vague answer:

- Can I resit only the component I failed, or must I sit the whole exam again?
- If a partial resit is possible, at which sessions, and for how long does my passing result in
  the other components remain valid?
- What is the fee for a partial resit compared with a full one?
- What is the deadline to request it?

Get the answer in writing if you can. Email is better than a phone call for anything you may need
to rely on later.

## Plan for the expensive case

Until you have a written answer, budget for a full resit at the full fee, and prepare across the
whole exam rather than only the part that failed.

If a partial resit turns out to be available, you have lost nothing by preparing more broadly. If
it turns out not to be, you have not built your plan on an assumption.
